It has been alleged by Mark Hall that a rumour is circulating yet again in some undefined part of Britain that burning wheelie bins can get you high, he is at pains to point out that this is not true.
The rumour is dangerous because of the effect it may have on cocky people in search of a cheap high.
Many people know that burning plastic is very, very hazardous in more ways than just inhalation.
Moreover, if you do so in Britain you could be charged with arson.
This is partly why plastic recycling is so difficult and separating your waste where you have the facility to is so important.
He as the head of his company Divert.co.uk is trying to encourage British people not to do so by sending a release from his company on this topic.
He owns a private company and as so is not in charge of bin collection up and down the country.
Part of the newest alleged rumour is, he claims, “...different dyes used to make coloured bins give off different fumes."
This is as he is trying to point out, completely false, the fumes are from the plastic itself.
Mark Hall’s message is: “stop right now, thank you very much”, with regards to the supposed practice of burning plastic wheelie bins to get high.
