Murray preparing for singles return

After losing the mixed doubles Murray is already raring to go and return to singles tennis.

Murray lost his mixed doubles match yesterday and fell out of Wimbledon.

But he is already training to get back to singles tennis, like the champion he is.

He is doing weight training to strengthen the muscles in his hip.

I can’t wait for him to return to the fray.

Andy Murray hip health restored

Andy Murray has played and won a match with his new hip.

Andy Murray made a successful return to action after six months out following hip surgery as he partnered Feliciano Lopez to a first-round doubles win at the Queen's Club championships on Thursday.

He is readying to play at Wimbledon, but has been turned down, quite politely, by Ashleigh Barty.

He says in his BBC blog “she said no because she is already playing in singles and doubles, so didn't want to play in three competitions.”

He also says of his injury: “Because of how professional sport is, you end up telling everyone you're OK and you're feeling a bit better. But you're not.

You say things like that to try to sound optimistic and not tell everyone how much you're struggling.
I might have had to play against those people asking me how I was, so I wasn't going to tell them that my hip was killing me and then play them the following day.”
I for one am delighted he is returning to Wimbledon as I am a massive Murray fan, so I will be watching the doubles and cheering him on.
It’s sad that I’m unlikely to see him as Wimbledon champion once more.

Promoting other people's journalism

So, as you may have guessed, I am not a sports journalist.

The person who wrote this article might be.

I now want some one to dig out footage of this match.

I will be there with popcorn.

Andy Murray sportswear?

Murray did it!

Andy Murray won in straight sets yesterday.

After so many years in the solitary certitude that a British man would not win Wimbledon, I had given up hope.

Thanks for bringing the hope back Murray and the smiles and the belief.

A new line of sports fashion?

So, if Fred Perry spawned a sports brand...

Does that mean that Andy Murray will be the next name emblazoned on sports t-shirts?

I wait to see.

Oh yes, the match

It did seem that Andy was going to walk through the match as Novak Djokovic didn't seem at his best.

If I was being biased I would say that Andy trounced him at his best, but I must admit that Djokovic didn't seem to be playing his best match.

Sorry, Andy.

The final moments

However, the last part of the match had me screaming at the TV as the chance of Murray winning Wimbledon seemed to be so close and yet so far.

He seemed painfully close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Thankfully, victory won out.

Well done Murray, you deserve it, and I hope you get that Knighthood.

Magnificent Murray

Happy to see that Andrew Murray is still in Wimbledon.

Maybe one day I will match your success.

Shocked to see Serena Williams knocked out.

Good luck to Sabine Lisicki.
